Roll This Way

Roll This Way

It started one night in Los Angeles when a small group of friends wanted to do something different for dinner. When the idea of sushi came up, fortunately one friend had plenty of experience. Everyone took turns creating their unique rolls, learning along the way. What started out as a casual dinner quickly evolved and it soon became evident to all that this experience would grow beyond that kitchen. Today, after hundreds of weddings, corporate lunches, bar mitzvahs, bachelorettes and birthdays, our team of skilled chefs are eager to make your next event one for the books.

Chef John Hoffmann

Chef John Hoffmann

Chef Hoffmann has been making and teaching sushi for almost a decade. He conceived of Roll This Way when hosting a small dinner party for friends in Los Angeles, which he previously called home. Self taught at first, he later returned home to Toronto, pursued his culinary education at George Brown College and eventually landed a sushi chef role at a catering company. This took him across Canada, making sushi for the VIP clientele of Cirque du Soleil. He later branched off and quickly expanded into providing high end bespoke sushi catering services to guests from the Windermere House, the Thompson Hotel Rooftop, private wine clubs, hundreds of prestigious venues, home and corporate events, over the last 10 years. He specializes in offering the freshest available fish, creating a unique and beautiful sushi bar and provisioning a truly unique and interactive experience. He has worked with companies like Facebook, Google, Harvard University and Pinterest.
